Campaign Videography

2018

About:

Throughout the course of the campaign to Repeal the 8th Amendment to the Constitution, I worked with the Together For Yes Communications Team to produce a series of videos to help raise awareness and encourage voter turnout. The historic referendum saw over 1.4m Irish citizens vote to overturn the Irish Constitution’s controversial 8th amendment in a landslide victory. Footage from these videos was later used in the 2020 Dublin Film Festival documentary, When Women Won

Working with other videographers, we produced a mixture of short and long form content for use on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. The long form content tended to be serious interviews with people recounting their personal experiences and motivations for campaigning for a ‘Yes’ vote. The short form material leaded towards less intense, ‘event’ style edits detailing the campaign trail in various areas throughout Dublin.
